Final Fantasy 14 players waiting for new content ahead of Patch 7.1 will soon have more to keep them busy, as the Moogle Treasure Trove event will return on October 15. The popular Final Fantasy 14 event will last until the release of Patch 7.1, and previous iterations of the Moogle Treasure Trove may give players an idea of when this highly anticipated update could go live.
The news of the Moogle Treasure Trove's return came just days after Square Enix pulled back the curtain on Final Fantasy 14 Patch 7.1, dubbed Crossroads. As the first major content update since Dawntrail's July release, the main story of Patch 7.1 will start tying up some loose ends and focus on characters met during the expansion. Aside from the main story, the 7.1 update will include the first wing of the Echoes of Vana'diel alliance raid series, Jeuno: The First Walk, named after one of the main city-states of Final Fantasy 11. Other features such as the Futures Rewritten (Ultimate) raid and the next chapter of the popular Hildibrand quest series will arrive in smaller content patches after Patch 7.1.

In response to the destruction caused by Hurricane Helene, Final Fantasy 14 is temporarily pausing the housing demolition timers in some data centers.
Although the Crossroads update will not be released until mid-November, the return of this popular event may give players a clue as to when the patch could drop. According to Square Enix, the latest Moogle Treasure Trove event will begin on Tuesday, October 15, at 4:00 AM Eastern, and end once the Final Fantasy 14 servers go down for maintenance ahead of Patch 7.1. During Endwalker, Moogle Treasure Trove events lasted four weeks before concluding when a major patch was released. If this pattern holds, Patch 7.1 may launch on November 12, which would fit the update's mid-November release window. Subtitled The Hunt for Goetia, this new Moogle Treasure Trove event will use the same reward structure that the previous Hunt for Genesis utilized.

- Past Moogle Treasure Trove events lasted four weeks, indicating Patch 7.1 could launch on November 12.

Final Fantasy 14 players can earn a currency called "Irregular Tomestones of Goetia" during the event, which can be exchanged for rewards such as the Donut Earring, the draconic Innocent Gwiber mount, and the Hades Barding for chocobos. Irregular Tomestones of Goetia can be earned by completing objectives listed in the Mogpendium, including dungeons, Triple Triad, The Hunt, and group activities like Ocean Fishing. Some objectives can be done weekly, while the Ultimog Challenge can only be done once per event.
As Square Enix continues to work on Patch 7.1's main features, the upcoming Moogle Treasure Trove event will allow players to score rare rewards. Only time will tell what challenges await Final Fantasy 14 players once the event goes live.
